If you know have have not read any of colleen hover books then this is the best review you have reached out to because it will definitely make you a Coho fan. There are multiple best sellers by her but UGLY love is one of my tops 3 recommendation for bookworms. This book has very beautiful story with comic and ride of different emotions . I am sure it will make you cry rivers. The story is very unique and unpredictable as it take turns of events a roller coster ride to emotions. This book has very meaningful cover page exactly talking the core of story which you will hit the realization after reading the book . Spoiler alert! It contains story of friendship, love, guilt, letting go, holding on, loss and moving on .
This book is very emotional at a point . I had watched this book recommendation in many reels on instagram in past and it was in list since long so I had to give it a try and now I wish I could just loose my memory so that I can read this again.
Best thing about colleen hover books are What she writes is very easy to read, understand, imagine right on point .

This story about tate and miles, miles who is tate’s brothers bestfriend and a super professional and cute pilot. Tate encounters Miles’s in very funny dramatic way and he happens to be her brother’s neighbor as well in short Tate’s neighbor as she will be staying here for quite a while.
Miles has this "being in his own shell living in secret personality" while tate a happy loving girl due to some unplanned events eventually tries to break his shell and at the same time as much as he wants to break out of it he tries his best not to. This reason is the core of this novel. The readers wonder how cruel and harsh something would have been to miles that he is not able to live a life he really wants . Tate tries her best to be his therapist friend who is also in love with him. Here tate has very positive role where she does every possible thing readers wished one could do so. I felt really very sympathetic towards tate at this point of story . She struggles and tries the best one can but miles doesn’t give up and doesn’t open up.
This story has dual timelines so at times it gets confusing as to what’s happening here but yes its worth the time.
As readers get curious as to what could the possible reason to break tate’s heart so many times be.
The past flashbacks now! Miles secret is about to come out . An intense turn of events we never expected to come this way but yeah it comes and yeah we read and yeah it breaks our heart into one thousand pieces at once.
It says . Miles was a married man! what! yeah right same reaction . This whole time we were fantasizing a a perfect guy called miles, a good looking perfect guy tate is in love with and vice versa. He was a married at a very young age with the love of his life Rachel they were actually teens when they got married and they had a baby named Sam an infant ! what in the world is happening yes he was a father . He had a very sweet small loving family .Rachel and Miles were perfect couple a pretty one. but we know happiness doesnt long last so here is the end to his happiness and his sweet love story While reading this I had this thought that maybe he has been cheated on or maybe someone has broken hi his heart very badly that he is not able to get over it but this story took totally unexpected direction I wasnt expecting this at all . "Miles, Rachel and Sam got into an accident and thier car fell into river. Somehow Rachel was rescued and as we all know Miles is alive too . but sam DROWNED! that little few months old infant drowned in the vast river so the will to breath of both Mother and Father.
My heart wrenched and broke into million pieces and everything miles did made sense. Miles couldnt save his child and this guilt drowned him to the bottom where even today he was not able to go near Happiness because he thought he didn’t deserve to live while his child had to give up on his life. This was the reason he never tried to be HAPPY . he then went to meet Rachel . She was remarried to a very great guy who accepted her past and lead to a peaceful future with her. Miles saw this, he was happy to see that finally rachel is trying to move on and live a life . He cries! The past and the heartbreak they both went through and finally they are here.Rachel tells him to "Let GO him now" . She meant sam. She says miles, let go and do not feel that you are responsible for the uneventful events in past has has taken and bared enough responsibilities on himself. He should now remmeber sam in good way not in guilty way where his heart hurts everytime. he should move on too. and lead a Peaceful life he always wanted. He deserves happiness as much as everyone. What he has gone through yet how he handled himself and lived a decent life the harsh reality where anyone would giveup or choose wrong direction to life he yet managed to hold h imself together. So now LIVE MILES! YASSSS exactly the words miles needed to hear in his life to break the shell. He cries his heart out that day . my heart sinked with the story but rachels words were the boat to my heart. She was keeper .
Anyways back to story, Miles then with his teary face runs back to tate and confesses hislove and tells her every secret he wanted to speak up.
And its a happy ending?
Now we know the exact reason why the cover page is deep drowning water with title ugly love because that’s where the worst happened and love got ugly.
This was very realistic story with realistic emotions one faces in day to day life so that’s one reason I like colleen hover for. I would highly recommend one read. It costs 200rs and is very travel friendly soft cover book.
