After being delayed for more than a year ullam ketkumae had been released sucessfully. I saw it at devi paradise on june10. much to my surprise, a full house.
cast:
this is one of the very few movies in tamil with a very apt cast. the lead roles are done by shaam, arya, laila, pooja, asin. all of them do really well . the supporting cast is good too. all of them fit into their characters really well. shaam stands out , especially his performance in the farewell day scene is superb.
10/10 for the cast.
technical crew:
the movie is technically sound. no major flaws. jeevas camera work is great. the movie has a rich look. editing is good too. thotta tharanis art work is real. the cultural fest arena is a good example.song picturisations are eye-catchy. 8/10 for the technical crew.
story , screenplay:
arya is a famous cricketer. his college friends gather at his wedding. laila who is settled in the US comes to india to attend aryas wedding. shaam is a famous fashion designer. pooja is an anglo indian, who sacrificed her love for aryas future meets him and the story moves between the present and the past. priya rejects shaams love and marries a pandu. after aryas wedding, the story moves into a predictable and draggy climax. 6/10 for story and screenplay.
music:
harris jeyaraj has done a wonderful job. all the songs are good and his BGM leaves an impact on the viewer. 8/10 for music
glitches;
the cricket match scene is as usual horrible. y dont the film-makers give up the last ball six situation.
the way laila mess-up the song and the opposition stealing the win is unbelievable.
the climax is too draggy and predictable.
verdict:
a nice movie to watch with ur friends. jeeva has given a good entertainer.
