The word supplement itself conveys the meaning that it has to be supplemented with a proper diet if the goal is building lean mass. Supplements alone do not contribute directly in bulking up. There are various manufacturers who offer protein products in the market at a cheap price. However, when it comes to health supplements, it is the genuineness of the product that matters .It was one of my colleagues who recommended me Ultimate NutritionsISO Sensation.The first important thing to take notice is the solubility of the powder in water. Any genuine protein powder dissolves in water completely without leaving a residue. Secondly, it is advised to prefer imported products rather than locally available supplement products that are cheap. This is because the manufacturing process plays an important role in the production of Whey protein and the standard manufacturing practices followed outside India are much more rigorous and stringent.
Now that I have used this product , I would like to share my experience below:
Price: I bought the supplement for 4500 bucks. I prefer quality to price when it comes to supplements.
Packaging: The packaging was very good. I ordered a 5 lb bucket which was door delivered. In fact, I had great difficulty in opening the lid which is an indication of the sound packing. A measuring scoop was provided in the bucket as well.
Colour and taste: The whey powder had a light brown tint. The flavour that I ordered was chocolate fudge and it had a good taste. (Dont expect supplements to taste yummy)
Water solubility: Dissolves completely in water with mild stirring.
Recommended use:Measure 1 scoop equivalent to 32 g and mix with 177 ml of water (Milk may be hard to digest.Hence, use water as a medium for mixing the powder.) . For beginners - Once in a day post work-out (Immediately after work-out). Do carry a shaker and the protein powder to the gym. For intermediate level and above- Twice in a day (During breakfast/After waking up and after work-out)
Results: Scientifically, work-out results in tearing of the muscle tissue at the micro level and hence quick recovery is the need of the hour. Though there are many types of proteins that contribute in muscle building, it is the one that gets absorbed the fastest that results in immediate recovery and thereby leading to better results. Whey protein is the fastest absorbing protein till date.I was able to see the results after 3 months of work-out.
Muscle building works on the Iceberg principle. The time spent in the gym on work-out is just a tip of the iceberg (one-third) .The major focus (two-thirds) should essentially be healthy diet and rest (lots of rest).
