GENUINE REVIEW OF PROSTAR WHEY ULTIMATE NUTRTION

Recently bought a 5.28lb pack of Ultimate Nutrition Prostar 100% Whey Protein Powder(Chocolate Cream flavor); here is my review of it, after using it for a few days.

ultimate-nutrition-prostar-100-whey I initially thought about buying it, because thanks to a discount coupon, I was getting 5.28lb pack of Prostar 100% Whey for Rs. 4, 734. In comparison, ON Gold Standard 100% Whey was going to cost me Rs. 5, 758 for 5lb pack.

So not only was I saving more than 1k with Ultimate Nutrition, I was also getting 0.28lb more protein powder. This roughly translates into 6 extra servings, per container for Prostar 100% Whey at a cost of Rs. 59.17 per serving vs. Rs. 77.81 per serving cost of ON Gold Standard 100% Whey.

For someone who uses Whey Protein Powders regularly, this is a substantial saving and the fact that Prostar Whey actually has 1gm more protein than Gold Standard, just makes the deal seem even sweeter!Since both Ultimate Nutrition and ON(Optimum Nutrition) advertise similar ingredients for these protein powders, I can only assume that both are at least comparable, if not similar.

Of course this is where the similarities end.

While ON Gold Standard 100% Whey is easy to mix in cold milk/water, Ultimate Nutrition Prostar 100% Whey takes a bit more effort and even after that, it doesn’t completely mixes and leaves a few lumps in the end(using the same shaker).

Add to that, even though Ultimate Nutrition Prostar 100% Whey uses the same artificial sweetener(Acesulfame Potassium) as ON Gold Standard 100% Whey, EAS 100% Whey and BodyTech Whey Tech Pro 24, it is a lot sweeter than others. And that along with the lumps, makes it difficult to consume.

Whether or not I end up ordering another pack of Ultimate Nutrition Prostar 100% Whey is dependent on me getting used to its taste in the long run. Add to that, I am a bit worried about higher levels of artificial sweetener in it, especially since I am consuming an extra serving of it each day to make up for abstinence from eating eggs(due to shradh and navratri.)

Thankfully I have a 2lb pack of ON Gold Standard 100% Casein coming in a day or two, so I would end up consuming one serving of it daily and 2 servings of Prostar 100% Whey and that would hopefully level things out.

Overall, I feel Ultimate Nutrition Prostar 100% Whey Protein Powder is best value for money at the moment, as long as you can overlook that extra sweet taste and inability to mix fully in cold water/milk.
