Im big fan of Sonata and GMT perpetual watches. Theyre on my short consideration list for next watch purchase along with Rolex, fossil today.
Having asked myself the same question about reputation and quality of UN, Ive concluded that it does belong on a short list based on the innovation of its movements.
So first I recently purchased it, and I was very happy I did this, because what I wanted was a sportive watch that at the same time looked fashionable, elegant, well different. Generally, the UN Marine Diver leaves the impression of high quality and value. It certainly never gets underrated. Besides its substance, it has a very unique design, following UNs successful resurrection of the classic marine chronometers, with their oversized second hands and power reserve display at 12 oclock. Consequently, anybody familiar with watches from Ulysse Nardin would recognize the Marine Diver immediately as a UN, even if he did not know about thats particular model before.
