Bagh-Ban!

A number of films in the recent past have tackled a similar theme – Santan, Baghban , Sansar... Clearly, there has been an overdose of such films; Also, it lacks an impressive face-value to make a strong impact.

The initial reels are far from impressive. The sequences between the 3 old man on tthe separate tracks. But the story picks up feverishly when Jimmy is charged the frame of Murder

The sequences thereafter are engrossing. The clash of ideals between two families keep the viewer hooked. But the pace slackens considerably in view of the fact that the narrative is stretched undeservingly in the latter portions. Moreover, the climax is not as punch-packed as one would expect it to be, mainly because of heavy talks.

Director has handled a few sequences with flourish, but the hammer-strong impact is missing. The war of words between father and son , for instance, is first-rate. The kader khan portions are well executed as well. However, a bit of trimming would benefit without taking anything much from the intensity of the situation.

Music is easy on the ears. But a hit number is sorely missed in the enterprise.

cinematography is up to the mark. The locales of London deserve special mention.

Satish is in his element. Prem is just about okay.Kader enacts his part with conviction, delivering the right expressions. Jimmy is competent.

On the whole, Umar lacks face-value to stand . Lack of aggressive promotion will also prove a deterrent.
