Classic re-invented BEAUTIFULLY

Finally a real beautiful film came in a long time on hindi cinema with utmost sincerity and honestly depicted way. Everybody is aware of this novel of Mirza Haadi Rusva and Mauzaffar Ali’s classic film but it was reinvented in a more beautiful style that is also very touchy.

JP DUtta the war film expert surprisingly handled this film with an amazing sensitivity. He depicted the sufferings of a poor young girl who was kidnapped and spent all her life in brothels just as it was in her fate.He depicted her miseries like an expert of these kinda subjects.well done.

Aishwariya has played the lifetime role of her career and acted even better then Rekha, though some of u might think it as an extreme over-statement but I felt this for Ash as she put her soul and blood in Umrao Jaan’s character and bring life to this filmi character as you cant find any difference in the film’s actress and the heroine of Mirza Hadi’s novel in your imagination.

Shabana Azmi was great ac ever and played her character very naturally. Abhishek and Arshad gave ample support to Ash’s character.

Music was also another plus point of this film and was no lesser then the original one.

Overall a must see and blockbuster of this year.
