A funny, light and interesting book from Sophie Kinsella. She is an author who writes books which you would like to take out from shelf & would curl up in bed with them to end your day with a smile! I actually became Sophie Kinsellas fan after reading this book only and post that I have read her complete Shopaholic series & her other two books are also there in my book shelf - waiting to be picked up any day.
Sophie Kinsella writes stories which would require you to enter into her world which is a bit laughable and it nearly crosses the line of believability. I mean who can believe that a high-flying career woman who works in a top law firm in London, who lives just for her career will turn into a homemaker trying to learn cooking & cleaning bathrooms. It is a hilarious account of Samantha Sweetings journey from Law to Loo :)
Samantha Sweeting was on the verge of achieving partnership of the law firm where she works like a maniac 24x7 and there she commits a small error which costs millions of pounds to her clients. After noticing her mistake she just runs from her office without informing anyone & flees away in a train to some distant city in suburbs of London & mistakenly considered as an applicant for housekeeping job by a couple. Unfortunately, Samantha knows nothing about cooking or cleaning and is completely clueless where to start. There is also a gorgeous gardener who has no clue about her past. His mother helps her become a domestic goddess.
Sophie Kinsella is one of those writers who are excellent at setting the pace and making you feel involved. It is true that "The Undomestic Goddess" is not a deep and meaningful read. It is not intended to be. It is recommended to anyone who likes light, cute romances with a generous sprinkling of humor.
In all, a very enjoyable book to read which has a lot of funny parts in it which will no doubt have you laughing out loud.
