Union Bank of India –Worst Banking Service

I wanted to open a saving bank account; my friend had a saving bank account in Union bank Of India mulund West branch. He told me to open the bank account in the same bank, so I opened a savings account, my first bank account, with Union bank Of India in 2008. During those days, I was only concerned with withdrawal of money from my ATM card(debit card and) so everything was well and good.


As my demands grew with time, the things went bad, very bad indeed. For each and everything you have to  visit the branch and approach their impatient, unprofessional and rude staff.


I wanted to get my internet banking credentials from the branch but even after making so many requests from time to time I never managed to get my internet banking credentials. After talking a countless number of times to their customer care that my internet banking credentials reached me by post. I thought the worst part is over, but there is more. To activate the user id, one needs to go to the branch which again takes a whole lot of time.


I you want to register your mobile number for SMS and OTP, bank requires you to carry your passbook and submit a copy of PAN, address proof and a photograph. For each time if you want to do any work from branch then they will ask your document and I don’t know why they want the same document again and again.


Because of this horrible experience I decided to close my account with this stupid bank. Also, the services offered by internet banking portal are not at par with other banks.


Hope this review will help others in avoiding frustration by not getting into financial relationship with Union Bank of India.
