I have visited Univercell, Koramangla Branch, Bangalore on 30-June-2012. I have been addressed by a Sales man Named Srinath.I am great fan of SAMSUNG mobiles and I visited this branch to buy SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 which is around 27.5 k.
The sales man Srinath convinced me to take Sony Xperia S by promising the following 4 options.
Sony Xperia S is latest than Galaxy S2. S2 is getting stopped soon.
32 GB internal memory ( I have felt S2 gives 16 + 32 GB =48GB total)
NFC tags are optional in G2 , Xperia S it is inside the box
4.Univercell will replace the mobile in case of any issue with the mobile within 1 Year.
- He forced me to take Theft Insurance which cost me 1000 Extra, I can re-embers the 80% of amount in case of theft.
I have decided to by Sony xperia S based on the point 3 and 4, despite I am more interested in the option 2.
I paid my amount and got the mobile back to home. As per the documentation, it was said to charge the mobile 30 min before start it. I did the same and then started the mobile around 8 PM.
My problems started then:
Problem 1: It struck at the Sony logo on the screen. Not able to start or stop the mobile even with charge. (Note: if it is other mobile we can remove the battery and reboot it works, but Xperia S has inbuilt Battery)
Sol: After 2 hours of research in Net, I found that POWER button + VOLUME UP button will make the device reboot.first day itself mobile Hangs and dont know how long I face this problem.
Problem 2: Sony Companion never detects the device . There is only one way we can copy the files to this device is USB connection as it does not have Micro SD card. It is issue with MTP drivers. Copying of 10 MB took 45 mines to the device.
Sol: after 3 hours of research in the I found there is an MTPAPP where I need to clear the memory.
Problem 3: There s no NFC tags in the Box . Univercell sales man told me before purchase it is present in the box along with the HDMI cable.
This is my worst experience with a mobile, till now I have used 3-4 smart phones from NOKIA, SAMSUNG and LG purchased from sangeetha mobiles. The worst part is yet to come. Next day of purchase I have visited Univercell, Koramangla branch and met Srinath to explain my problems with the phone. He started talking rudely and made me to feel that it is my mistake to believe the Univercell. He started blaming me that these problems never exist with the phone and I am lying to him. Why does a customer revisit the show room once they purchase anything without having any problem with the device?
I asked him, yesterday you promised me that if any problem with the device you will provide 100% replacement so I asked him to do the same.
He said, he doesn’t replace any mobile. He dont care about the customers issues.
How we feel as a customer after spending 33k for a mobile and same day it hangs and when I visit a sales man who promised me very good product says he don’t care about the issues and he even tells mobile will not have any issue.
Univercell sales man argues that no mobile gives any problem, then why does all brands have their service centers.
I am going to ask Univercell, is it the way they do business by just selling a product somehow and forget about it? Why does they do false commitments to the customer.they don’t respect customer they just some how sell their product by showing some attractive offers like gold coin and so on .
I am regretting to buy a product from Univercell and I have decided to publish my worst experience with Univercell in all review sites so that rest of the people can survive from the Univercell.
I request all the customer , be careful when you are planning to buy a Smartphones at Univercell. You will defintly regret for buying at Univercell.
