Everywhere one always try to find out the good thing because this is human nature. but I would like to tell that everything has good side as well as bad side, now as far as UPES is concern then I was the student of B.Tech in UPES, and my branch was " Aerospace engineering with specialization in avionics"( 2013-2017 batch) and now I am working in a company as "Technical marketing engineer" which I got through the campus placement in UPES. so by having the four year experience of UPES I think i’m the eligible person to give the proper review of UPES.
There are more than 60 different different branch at bachelor level(including B.Tech, BBA and Bachelor in Law), computer science department alone has around 19 Branch with different different specialization. Apart from bachelor UPES Running Master level program also, like M.Tech, MBA, M.Des etc. where Health safety and Environment(HSE) branch in M.tech is well know branch for their Placement But it does not mean that other Branches in M.Tech is Bad, but HSE has some edge in placement over other branches in M.Tech, and in MBA almost every branch is good and has better placement but the MBA in oil and gas has some edge in terms of placement.
The administration of upes is good, in 2013 the president of india(Mr. Pranav mukharji) has visited UPES in the convocation and in 2005 the india greatest who also called missile man Mr. A. P. J abdul kalam has visited, in 2017 the human resource and development(HRD) minister and the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand was there in the convocation, overall UPES has now good fame in our country and outside as well, recently in 2013 Laureate International universities has taken some share of UPES, where laureate is the network of universities around the world. UPES also have exchange programm for student. Now if I come to extracurricular program then every year UPES organize different different types of technical and cultural activities like IGNITE, UURJA ans the students are taking part in this with full integrity.
UPES is operating the different different prgram since 2003, so UPES has their students now in the top leading companies like AMAZON, Rolls royce, Honeywell, Maruti, Hitech, Philips, Airbus, Boeing, Flipkart, Microsoft, schlumberger, Cairn, Reliance. the companies like Airbus, Rolls Royce, and Boeing etc has not recruited directly from UPES, But alumni fF UPES is working in these companies currently after having experience in other companies. The UPES is working on a great level and growing continuously year by year, but UPES has some problem also like it is a private college and as we know that in india every one want to go in government college and the other is Fee of this college, because the Fee is also growing year by year in UPES.
UPES is like a new mercedes car which come early in market and become famous. UPES established in 2003 and now UPES is giving competition to the other well known government as well as private colleges. sometime there may placement issue depending on the industry condition, overall UPES is Deemed university and handling each and everything by himself, and apart from that, placement is depending on many other factor as well like knowledge, academics, industry condition. last year manufacturing companies condition was down so student faced some problems during placement. one thing I would like to say about UPES that sometimes placement department generally focus on particular things, Like 2013-2017 batch placement department generally focused on the IT companies and comparing to other previous computer science batch, 2013-2017 batch got highest percentage( >95%)of placement along with highest package(18 LPA) in computer science department. now coming to other department like mechanical, automotive, aerospace, electronics then students got descent placement but not 100% placement, students of mechanical and automotive got the package of 7-8LPA, and some Up and down was there in the package in the other departments. Labs and everything are well developed and the professors are well experienced in this college so overall UPES is good platform for getting good education environment, knowledge, activities, and for getting good placement. Only student have to face the problem with the fee in this college.
