Its a daunting task to find decent restaurants with family atmosphere within a budget around Banaswadi, had been noticing the display board every time I pass through Jaibharath Nagar on Banaswadi main road, but never visited until I got to hear about Upbeat from a friend.
It was a Tuesday evening, entrance is from the back, we had to climb up to 1st floor to take the lift to 5th floor, the walk up to first floor and the lift itself is a bit shady, felt like I may have a made a mistake by bringing my brother and bhabhi, before checking it out myself.
However I got confident once we entered the restaurant, decor is retro style but the theme does not carry all the way through, leaving room for improvement. We ordered crispy chilly chicken, chilly lamb, barbeque pork ribs for starters and rogan gosht and tandoori rotis for mains, all the dishes were good but still left something to desire.
Like the crispy chilly chicken was crispy but was a bit too fried which dried the chicken a bit, the pepper and the chilly in the chilly lamb were overpowering the soft delicious lamb, the pork ribs were good, rogan gosht was the best among all, rotis were made well (atta), overall the place is not a must visit or a great place but does not cost you like a fancy place as well, a meal for 2 with a drink each will cost you around 1 K, that’s a real good deal for the whole package!
