upGrad Cares

upGrad is working closely with MouthShut.com to enhance customer satisfaction.

UpGrad is Scam - Never Ever enroll in any courses.

In 2023, I enrolled in UpGrad’s program, enticed by its promise of facilitating overseas education through IU University Germany.

However, my experience has been fraught with challenges. Despite assurances, I remain in India with no substantial updates on my candidacy. This prolonged uncertainty has led to significant financial strain, as I continue to pay EMIs totaling ₹10, 378 monthly.

My requests for a refund have been declined, exacerbating my anxiety and stress. I feel misled by UpGrad’s initial commitments. I urge prospective students to exercise caution and thoroughly research before enrolling in UpGrad’s programs.

Hi Kiran,Thank you for your patience and understanding while we’ve been addressing your concerns with the relevant teams. We truly appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and allowing us the opportunity to discuss it thoroughly. To provide clarity on your case:You enrolled in the IU BBA Program on 30/04/23 with a deposit fee of Rs. 25,000, securing your admission and allowing us to proceed with the necessary paperwork. The Offer Letter was issued to you on 29/04/23, which you accepted by making the deposit payment of Rs. 25,000, thereby confirming your enrollment and agreeing to the program’s terms and conditions, including the refund policy. On 06/05/23, after 7 days, you paid the remaining fee of Rs. 4,25,000 via a loan from a third-party provider. This loan was a separate agreement between you and the lender, and upGrad is not involved in the terms of that agreement. On 29/12/24, you requested a refund for the first time, citing non-eligibility for a collateral loan. We have since communicated with you on several occasions (29/12/24, 18/01/25, 20/01/25, and others), clearly stating that refund requests are not possible as per the terms outlined in your Offer Letter dated 29/04/23.We completely understand the financial challenges you are facing, and we empathize with your situation. While our refund policies do not allow cancellations or refunds, we would like to extend an exceptional goodwill gesture of Rs. 50,000, which will be adjusted toward your remaining program fee (directly with the 3rd party credit facilitator). This is our way of offering you support during these difficult circumstances. In addition, we are offering you the option to transition to a Fully Online BBA Program, with a special fee concession. This will significantly reduce your financial commitment when compared to on-campus studies, which would have cost approximately Rs. 20,00,000.Please note, however, that as per the terms of your Offer Letter, refund requests cannot be processed. Our policies are designed to ensure clarity and consistency, and in this case, we must adhere to the terms and conditions outlined for the program, which do not support a refund. We believe that completing this program will provide you with valuable knowledge and skills that will greatly benefit your future. Our primary goal is to ensure that your learning journey continues seamlessly, and we strongly encourage you to pursue your online coursework to earn your transcript and certification. As an exception, we are extending this support specifically for you during this challenging time.
