It was a romantic evening yesterday in Ahmedabd with a good downpour.My husband and I in good mood thought of our fav(which no longer is now) joint Upper Crust to go have sizzlers and celebrate the good weather. We entered the place and chose to sit downstairs in the cafe area, next to our table were sitting 2 men in their 30’is. Hubby and I sat and started ordering and while waiting for the food to arrive started to play hangman and enjoy each other’s company.
We were disturbed so much by the guys sitting next to our table they were drunk and were speaking really loudly all the abusive language you can think of.We ignored it for sometime then it went from bad to worst and the tables are close by and the drunk man was maybe enjoying to speak top f his voice all the bad words one can think about it.All the other tables were occupied by families and couples were giving them annoyed look but this did not make the restaurant staff take any action on the drunk man.also the manager was missing and so they just gave it a deaf ear.We could not as we were sitting right next to him, so my husband in a polite tone tried to ask the man to lower down a bit and what you know he stood up and started shouting "What is your F*** Problem A***"..this was the language used one-to-one and still NO MANAGER and NO Staff doing anything.
The eventually after 10 mins of us arguing and asking for manager the he finally came and asking us to go upstairs int heir fine dining area rather then asking the drunk man to mellow down or to throw him out of the property for spoiling everyone’s evening.The behavior of the drunk man was sad and the worst was the restaurant’s behavior who did not care if we were bothered and hampered in our lovely evening.We could not enjoy our food still sat and ate as we did not choose to let the drunk man feel he is the god and can make people go-way.But honestly I am hurt by the staff and manager’s treatment who did not care for their regular customers and they conviniance and the ambiance of their restaurant.they just gave the whole incidence a blind eye and deaf ear.To top it all after we finished the dinner we asked if we can see the manager and was told he is buys and he would call if we will drop our ph numbers.So the busy manager does not have time now and was doing what??.. isn’t this his duty and job to make his customers feel happy and satisfied?..I would request stern action to be taken by the Upper Crust Owners and Management against the current staff and the manager and to make sure along with the food the ambiance is lively and good and not foul and bad mouthed.I wish some action is taken. Otherwise I request everyone to avoid going to this place , and go on your own risk only to spoil your evening as there are many such drunk people sitting and the restaurant staff only encourages them rather then taking any action.So if you go there be prepared to fight or hear foul language.
