Bureaucrat's mecca

UPSC has been supplying bureaucrats to the Govt. of India for more than 75 yrs now. Some aberrations apart, the Commission has done a great job all these years. With changing times there have been changes in the selection procedure as well. Be it the Civil Services, Economic Services, Forest Services, Statistical Services, CDS, NDA, Other allied services or recruitment for some other posts, every year lakhs of students and aspirants for coveted jobs apply through UPSC. To manage all these data effectively and efficiently, to prepare the question papers, get the evaluations done taking due precautions is indeed an arduous task. But for all these years UPSC has done it with apparent ease. But after some of the examinations the long wait for the results need to be reduced considerably. This delay results in duplicity of applications for the next term examinations. Also, somehow our National Language HINDI has not been given its share of honour by the Commission in conducting the exams, which has resulted in the longest ever Dharna outside the UPSC. This may be a political decision, and their might be some compulsions on the part of authorities, yet this is a decision which really needs a serious attempt and sincere efforts on the part of the authorities. Lets hope this could happen in near future.
