Urvi Interiors_defrauded me by 2lakh
I am using this review to raise my honest feedback on the disgusting service by Urvi Interiors, Jagan(Interior Head) and the carpenters Nagendra, Jagan, Ankit, Raja, Mahesh and Suraj. By means of this review, I am going to highlight areas of the work that I was defrauded by Jagan in the amount of Rs 2 lakh where he committed the work to be done and did not complete it.
1. Disgusting quality of work – the carpenters were doing adjustment work where they could not take accurate measurements and then joined pieces together and tried to get it painted or laminate it to hide it.
a. I have attached photos where the carpenter broke a piece of HDHMR(which I had to purchased separately) and then cut another piece of HDHMR new sheet to join pieces together.
b. The worker did not understand the design, first a gap was made in the cupboard and then a piece of ply was fitted in a shabby fashion(photos shared)
c. Huge gaps were left between cupboards and wall and when I asked to rectify these gaps, they said nothing could be done. These gaps are due to walls not being straight and they left it as it is.
d. Cheap tactics on the glue used to stick the laminate. Photos shared where they were using almost no glue to stick the laminate.
e. Wrong boxes were made even after the measurements were told to the carpenters. For TV Unit, the length of the box was given as per specifications of a subwoofer to be fitted, but even then, the carpenter messed up the length and built the box shorter than the specifications. Now my subwoofer is no use and cant be placed as planned.
f. Different color laminate sheets were used in the same wardrobe. Light color laminate was used with the dark laminate. Did not rectify.
g. Loft measurement was not taken currently resulting into fan blades hitting the loft shutters. When escalated, I was told that now they have to damage the ceiling and shift the fan.
h. On shutter and drawers, on 3 sides 2 mm beading was used and on one side 0.8 mm when the quote said only 2mm beading will be used all over.
i. Shutters not aligned after fitting, gaps between shutters.

The above list are the most highlighted issues which were escalated to Jagan but not rectified. There were a lot other issues which were experienced in the project that were adjusted by fixing a 6mm ply pieces or small pieces of wood or wood powder just for the sake of it. Almost for all issues the explanation was laminate will be fitted to everything will be hidden and cannot be seen.
2. STEALING materials after I paid for them.
I will be logging a case in consumer forum for this. Jagan and Nagendra were paid by me for the materials(laminates, Aluminium glass shutters, HDHMR sheets, Louvres) All these materials were paid for and not delivered at my site. Jagan kept asking for more money and more money even when not delivering the materials which were paid for. Carpenters under Jagan are doing their own business part time they stole Hettich hinges(which I paid for) from my site and then carried them to their own site used in their own businesses.
The electrician Syed also purchased the wire on my money and did not keep these wires at my site but carried them to his home and used it on some other sites and took the money from those customers as well. The electrician Syed Sadiq broke sockets in my home, switch plates and switches and did not rectify them, stole the Havell’s wire, anchor sockets and switch plates and then did not return to my site.
Syed did not take measurements and cut pieces of a Rs 22000 Home theater wire I purchased and later told nothing could be done about it as the wire is already cut. He also tried to suggest local non quality brands to me so as to increase his margins when I clearly told him that I have agreed for Havell’s wire in the quote.
3. Behaviour and Attitude issues with the carpenters.
All carpenters were found overconfident to deliver bad quality work and saying they have been doing this for past 10 years or 15 years so what they think is right and what I am suggesting was wrong and when asked to rectify issues, they straight away started their argumentative behaviour, rudeness and asking to talk to Jagan. One of the carpenters, Mahesh was found to be so rude that he threw away the plyboard, left the site and didn’t come back to work in the day. All carpenters had ego issues and either refused to work or directly asked me to speak to Jagan or Nagendra when I asked them to rectify any issues with the work they did wrong. The carpenters were found to come to the site, waste entire day in the society gardens and then go home with just doing 2 hours of work in the entire day. The project was started on 15th July and was left incomplete on 20th September.

4. Overcharging and under delivery
The quote that Jagan prepared was 40% inflated to what other vendors were quoting me. He overcharges the customers earns almost 4 times on the money invested in the project. He has fake photographs on his website and Google. No one wears uniforms or anything and the carpenters are rude, abusive and do shoddy work. He keeps asking for more money without even delivering what was required. In my case both Jagan and Nagendra understood and accepted the design which was suggested before the advance amount was given and after 50% was paid he refused that this design could not be delivered. Nagendra is a fraud. He is actively involved in his personal projects and steals materials from one site to those project where customer has agreed on less quote for the interior.
The model I agreed with Jagan for the work for 25% advance, 50% after carcass and 25% on handover, but Jagan forced 60% money out of me by saying he is running short of money and in order to continue the work on the project he and Nagendra needs more money for materials and without the same the work cannot be completed. He refused the 25-50-25 model after the 50% money was paid and asked me to pay complete 100% for the work to continue otherwise he will not continue the project. I ended up paying 60% money for less than 20% of shabby work just for the sake of not interrupting the continuity of the work and false commitments given by Jagan.
5. Ineffective, lethargic and pathetically skilled carpenters
In my society no noisy work is allowed between 1-3 pm for the sake of elderly people. The carpenters instead of doing other jobs like sticking the laminate or edge banding rather watched Youtube videos and roamed around society gardens from 1 to 3:30 PM did some work till 6:00 and then left the site. It was easily 5 times that I requested Jagan to ask the carpenters for starting the work at 10:00 AM but they said they have to breakfast or lunch before 10 and can’t come by 10 AM. So overall the work was being done for maximum of 3 hours per day and hence stretched from 15th of July to 20th September for just 20% delivery. Jagan WILL NOT PICK UP YOUR PHONE AFTER HE TAKES THE ADVANCE MONEY AND WORK IS STARTED. He leaves everything to Nagendra who does not coordinate with the workers and the workers have no clue what to do at the site. Since Nagendra is busy on his personal projects he will not pick the phone most of the times as well. Before the advance was paid, Jagan agreed to visit the site twice a week. In the 2 months that work was being done he just came 4 times, 2 times out of that to discuss my escalations against shabby quality work. Jagan will not visit or control the site at all and neither Nagendra visits the site. Carpenters have no clue what is to be done and the whole project goes for a toss.

Nagendra is useless in supporting the customer requirements. For most of the material where he does not earn margins he is going to suggest the customer.
