First and Last

If US Airways was the last airline left on the face of the earth, I would not use them. Please do not book the non-stop flight from Philadelphia to Barcelona, Spain as this flight rarely leaves as scheduled. The cancellation, after waiting 8 hours and being told at midnight, caused myself and around 25 other people to miss our cruise ship leaving from Barcelona. The agent’s response, "Maybe you should have left the day before!" Their personnel are rude, uncaring and at times hostile.


Make sure if you are ever cancelled on one of their flights, that you get one of their personnel to write down what they will pay for. The supervisor at my gate said that the airline would cover hotel cost, meals and transportation (which was on document they handed out), but it did not state any amounts. When I returned from my trip and sent my documentation to their customer relations department, my request was denied! I received 3 computer generated responses and it wasn’t until my 4th (really nasty) response, that I received a call from a supervisor.


However, he still would not grant the amounts their gate supervisor had told everyone. And would not pay for any meals, since we were not given meal vouchers! I’m now fighting with them again, because they won’t allow me to transfer a travel voucher I received from this horrendous experience to my son for his upcoming trip. I figure they do this because who wants to use a voucher on an airline they would never fly again, and so if it can’t be transferred, the voucher expires and it doesn’t cost them a penny! Save yourself the stress and aggravation - fly another airline!
