Ginger....(African Ginger)

Most of us think of Ginger the wonderful tasting herb in lots of our favoriet dishes, like pork curry, roasts, desserts, etc. It is also a wonderful medical herb for our hearts.

Research conducted at Cornell University Medical colledge has found that Ginger may help prevent stokes and hardening of the arteries.  A active ingredient call Gingerol, inhibits an enzyme aht causes cells to clot. Ginger thins the blood and lowers cholesterol. It is also known to reduce fevers and to relieve vomiting and to soothe the stomach and spleen in the process.

Ginger is a warm blood vascular stimulant and body cleansing herb and is used in respiratory and lung/chest clearing combinations.

Ginger is most often used as a carminative, usually mixed with a variety of other herbs, because of its great ability to stop griping and cramping especially in the abdominal and intestinal area. Great for morning sickness and really has lots of minerals.

Other than foods, some people use Ginger for when they have  gas, flu, sore throat, toothache, etc.

I, myself do not think I could enjoy most of my foods without my ginger, garlic, marjoram, cumin, cloves, cinnamon and other wonderful herbs.
