We, a group of 5 families with children had stayed here for 3 nights in 2008 Diwali....we had payed almost double due to festival rush...hotel looks very nice & modern from outside, but the reality strikes when u start ur stay...the rooms which were on the backside were filthy, there was accumulated dust since ages.
In fact my child started sneezing, broken tiles in bathroom, rusty fittings..horrible room service...worst part was when we went to swimming pool, water was dirty, stagnant...they reused the towels, they gave to us already used by somebody...when we confronted the staff, they gave excuses of this being a norm in all matheran hotels due to lack of resources...
The package included all meals..they gave us gujarati thali in lunch...for the record our rooms were called deluxe rooms..there were super deluxe rooms too which according to our travel agent were better...i dont think I will ever go there again or recommend anybody...our group felt cheated with spoilt festival time.....
