Recently had to purchase a geyser for a family of 2.Did plenty of research.
First question is what type-Gas, Storage or instant
Gas geysers not being so popular as yet and instant geysers would rise the electricity bill by a huge percentage, made my decision easier to go for a Storage heater.
Now the brand?Only reputed brands, no local and cheap brands.
Would choose out of these- Racold, Usha and Bajaj.
Then comes the tank - Copper or Steel. better to go for steel since sedimentation and corrosion chances are more in copper.
Then comes outer body- Steel or plastic. prefer plastic(ABS) because of the chance of corrsion in steel. The particular model had a very good outer coating which would prevent any chances of corrosion. hence made a compromise.
other things like Warranty and Bla bla ... would make no difference at all. You get a 7 year or 5 year with racold and only 3 years with usha & bajaj I guess.
Most of the other things like automatic cut-off 7 other features are same in all brands. Would not make any difference.
Decide on the Usha Lexus 15 L (Josh Model)
gets the heating done in Apprx less than 20 Min first time around and if little warm water is left out in the tank next time heating takes almost half the time!
So far tested the heater for retaining the temperature for nearly 6 hrs.
Overall very satisfied with the model and would blindly recommend it to anybody.
