I bought usha brita water filter for Rs 2000. Its looks are OK but filling water is messy if you do not fix that lever to right position. Also spares are difficult to get. USHA authorised service centre that used to supply spare cartidges in my neighbourhood has packed up. Imagine changing cartridge at Rs 600 every 6 months. Also, it still remains a chemical filter. The tap is of plastic, has got broken and I am having a difficult time geting the spares as authorised agent in Kochi/ Ernakulam does not have the spares.
A Poor show for USHA Brita. I recommend do not buy the product if you can. Please do not go just by the looks of the filter. Its operating costs are definitely higher than any candle filter and filtered water is still full of chemicals as the cartridge is made out of chemical elements. My mother is a blood pressure patient, and by drinking the so called filtered water, her BP shot up. We are back to candle filter for the time being.
Ones pocket goes lighter by Rs 600 every six months, plus the hassle of running around and finding a cartridge every six months adds to the agony. Its plastic tap goes bad within a year and then no spares for tap are available at the spare parts store/ authorised service centre for usha. It seems USHA is a dying company, as it is unable to manage such a few of its products and better products are available in the market. Do you still want to invest in its products and want to tag along ? You are most welcome!
