What can I say, it seems that Colors channel is hell bent on perpetuating ignorance of law in the country.
When a Channel has the amount of viewership that Colors does, it has a social responsibility to be not factually wrong, to provide correct legal advise in the plot and to address social issues in a responsible manner.
Uttaran which started off as based on class divide has really dived so low into the soap opera mud pool that it has lost all its colours.
A marriage is a contract in law. A contract cannot be made if any party misrepresents or through coercion. Such a contract is not enforceable. Therefore, a marriage through switching the of the bride is void. Forget the’Saat phere’ stuff that these serials are hawking. Therefore the marriage between Tapasya and Veer is actually void in law. Please will Colors channel contact some legal expert and try and educate the people through this serial? DO NOT PERPETUAL IGNORANCE OF LAW IN THIS COUNTRY. Perhaps the TRPs are high due to this nonsense but what about the social responsiblity the channel has to the viewers?
Btw, the casting for Tapasya and Iccha should have then had two girls of even height and body structure. How someone can mistake the taller girl for the shorter girl - even fooling the groom and her own parents is BEYOND logic. But then the director of this serial is not looking for logic. That is why the Thakurain always goes to bed with her brocade saree pinned to her blouse and all characters have their hair tied in place with pins and dupatta in place when they get out of bed! Sad show really. This director is on his way out for this "Tara na na Tara na na nas" and camera panning to show every overly done face!
A lot of people I know only watch this serial to see what mad ideas are coming out next.
