Once upon a time, when I tried to be a perfect housewife, I picked up the habit of watching few serials also, as no conversation is complete without discussing the current episode of well-watched serials! My dream vanished very soon, along with the interest of watching serials.When this serial, Uttaran started, its no -nonsense storyline attracted me, and I followed it for sometimes. Everything was fine till that Veer appered. The hell broke loose then. Uff, what nonsense these people r showing from then!!!! Veer-Tapasya, then Veer-Ichcha, then again Tapasya...........What is this Veer, some kind of Casanova?meanwhile, Vansh appears, and the "divine" triangle becomes quadrangular!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, no intimacy between this Vansh and Tapasya.....but the whole story takes an ugly turn while Vansh killed himself because of Tapasya.. The reason behind Vansh’s death came to light, and Tapasya was thrown out of Bundela house- would be a perfect ending for this story. But, the elastic nature of serial killed the entire charm at this point. From that time, the wise, intelligent serial makers (aka serial killers) are making useless, unrealistic, biased and also immoral stupid episodes just to test the patience of audience. The character of Tapasya is destined to win in every situation, and Ichchha always falls prey of her evil tricks. Why, for God’s sake the character of Ichcha is so naive, but so irritatingly dumb? Her "Everything for Tappu" nature makes it so frustrating sometimes...........seems like she is being depicted as some "Joan of Arc" or something of that sort!!!!!! Giving away everything.including the love of life is OK, (only possible in reel lives, not in real life), but continuously falling prey of somebody who is not at all trustworthy really rises a question about her sanity. Another irritating thing in the serial is supporting few 16th century values which are not only obsolete now, but insulting also. It is showing the age-old social classification with so much glory, and the humiliation of Damini, Ichcha’s mom and a maid at Thakur’s house is being depicted with its all ugliness. The humiliation is intolerable. Arrey, with that much insult an animal also reverts back. These characters show some "holier-than -thou" attitude which I just can stand. The wicked Naani, her son, and few other people are there only to add fuel in the fire. Sometimes I feel like either breaking the TV set in sheer frustration, or.......but that’s bought with my hard-earned money, so I spare it. But I have to do something about it, so finally I have stopped watching this serial. From where one is being pregnant without staying with her hubby, why Ichchha’s heart cry for each and every soul, but she doesn’t bother abt herself................all these things can neither be explained, nor be tolerated.........so goodbye Uttaran! Earn money by fooling others. It’s a big no for me now. Arrey, Saas-Bahu drama kam padh gaya tha kya, jo yeh bakwas sab se important slot mein dikhaya jaa raha hain? please, Colors authority, spare us the torture.
