Very Very Sure Laxman drives history to fence

Very Very Sure Laxman is here to stay. Not because he is hotter than the steamiest of Tandoori Chicken. But, his level headed cool demeanour is an ample proof of Longevity. He is sizzling, and wouldn’t you want more of him. Just drive into the next para guys!

Now, 281 is an immortal figure. It shall always be remembered as one of the greatest knocks by a cricketer ever. The greatness about Laxman’s innings is the circumstances under which it was scripted. Rahul Dravid owes his hundred eighty odd to his own grit, but one can’t discount the stolid support provided by the determined junior on the other end who kept on egging him on through the cramped times.

I don’t know how much you guys agree with me or not, but I feel that Laxman’s resemblance to another Hyderabdi giant Azharuddin is his biggest strength as well as a liability. For his cuts, drives, deft wrist work, body language, cool temperament and introverted humility are a stark reminder of the disgraced Hero.

I think Azhar was at fault at many an occasion. But, one must accept the fact that he was one of the most gifted players. The jealousies were prolific. Laxman is very similar to his mentor. One hopes, he is better adept at handling the gruesome politics. For this shall be the only hurdle for this well brought up, level headed Hyderabadi.

While talking to Ravi Shastri during the prize distribution, Saurav wasn’t making the eye contact. And Laxman was slightly ill at ease as well. As is well known Shastri may seem like an innocuous commentator, but he has got a major say as far as the Bombay lobby goes. The match fixing has been dealt with. Now, this lobbying should come to an end for we are entering a glorious era for Indian cricket. We can certainly do without such superfluous entities. There game is done with. Why can’t they be graceful about their retirement. And rather than letting their prejudices rule their opinions, why can’t they put country’s interest first.

Here’s hoping to many a delightful knocks from my Very Very Sure Laxman. I am absolutely certain Asysis that he ain’t no flash in the pan.

P.S: Well, a member sent me a mail recently. And for her information, I must mention that since the start of Mouthshut.com, I’ve been a prolific writer, but I like to space my reviews. And put high premium on quality. Hopefully you guys may agree with my efforts.
