Believe me writing about a mall is difficult, unless you are an architect or you have a fight or displeasing experience with the staff. But still I am trying to make it. I am living in East Delhi for past 1 year or so. When I reached Delhi then it was in the final stages of construction and was given final touches. A few months later it was inaugurated with lots of advertisement money thrown in. Comparing it to Dubai malls. Remember the ads on FM.I was wondering what V3S stands for. Google gave the answer i.e Vikas Surya Mall but again why 3 has been put there, no idea about that.
Earlier there were only a few places in East Delhi (Laxminagar, Preet Vihar area) where you can spend your weekends. I used to remember to go to McDonalds in the Preet Vihar which was the only place I could find (Later I found PSK i.e Poorva Sanskratic Kendra, a government run body whixh is primarily setup for entertainment purposes of government officials touring Delhi). Coming back to V3S East Center, it is quite big and spacious. Preet Vihar McDonalds is now shifted to V3S at a cozy corner of the ground floor. Shops are good too with a variety of stores like Reliance Trendz, The Dollar Store, Jumbo Electronics, eZone, The Time Factory etc.
V3S looks stunningly beautiful from the exterior as well as interior with proper cleaning facilities.Crowd is as mix as East Delhi itself ranging from rustic to super urbane. Lots of programs are a regular part at this mall.A very small percentage of public goes there for real shopping, rest all is window shopping or just time pass crowd. The mall is composed of 3 floors with underground parking. The ground floor consists mainly of Mc Donalds, a huge jewellary shop, a mens suitings shop, a lingerie shop, etc. The first floor mainly has The Time Factory, Levi Strauss Signature outlet, Reliance Trendz, and a few other shops. The upper floors mainly has Jumbo Electronics store and a giant Food Court to serve your appetite.
Economy wise this mall being located in a very price conscious market takes care of that part. Most of the things are within the budget of middle class. Off course, malls do sell things at a premium because they have to manage the maintenance cost out of the profits. But competition has forced the malls to keep things at a reasonable premium as in some cases even cheaper than normal outlets. Lot of sale and other promotional things are also an integral part which is also the case with any retail outlets nowadays.
A strange thing I noticed is the attitude of the guards at the entry gate as well as outside of the mall. They sometimes object to sitting outside the mall near the fountain. They may also raise objection to taking photos from outside the mall. It was a floral shop when I took picture of some beautiful booquets and the guard intervened. But anyways on the weekends lot of public is there and then they dont object to anything.Helmets are sometimes a no-no for entry in the mall and sometimes not. Anyways if you go by the lift through the parking nobody objects and there is no security check even. What a lousy security?
Adjoining East Centre, there is Fun Cinemas as well as food joints like KFC, Pizza Hut and Not Just Pranthas So, your entertainment as well as food appetite is also being taken care of. Overall, V3S is like an oasis in the East Delhian desert (especially Laxminagar and Preet Vihar area) .Good Business thought from the makers.
