I had gone to 6.45 show at Sterling theatre in South Mumbai. I entered the theatre at 6.40.The gates had opened since 5 minutes and I was shocked to find that there was no other person in the balcony/dress circle area.After some time, people started entering in .(I was relieved that it wasn’t a ghost theatre after all)By the time the movie started, there were 21 people in the balcony/dress circle area! I relaxed into my seat, expecting the worst.However, as the movie started my fears were allayed.
The cast of the movie mainly consists of 5 characters-Arjun Rampal, Amisha Patel, Zyed Khan, police officer(seems to be an an actor from Lagaan and Swades, if I remember him right) and Rakesh Bedi(lawyer). Amisha Patel looks more like an alien in the initial scenes with her ’whitish’ hair colour.
The movie is a sort of murder mystery. I won’t reveal the story because I would be giving away the suspense if I do so.It has many twists and turns, which keep you entertained.
The acting of all the 3 leading characters is reasonably decent.Zyed Khan seems to be the best of the lot in certain scenes, but he has overacted at times.The songs are reasonably good Some of them remind you of the early 90’s kind of songs.
To conclude, Vaada is a good entertainer which keeps you glued, a sort of movie which is worth a watch once, but you won’t regret missing it either.
