Once upon a time, Indians used to treat RGV with respect. And he earned it by conquering and opening previously unknown genres of movies. His Satya was a scathing reply to the present political situation. His Rangeela was every broken hearted lovers epic. His Darna Mana Hain gave a whole new meaning to word Horror in Hindustan.
But somewhere along the way, he tripped with Gayab. But now, he is back and back with a bang. Ladies and gentlemen, I present, the movie that will be rocking Bollywood very soon, `Vaastu Shastra.
Going by the name, he doesnt have to cling to Namkaran, his Vaastu is Vaastu and his Shastra is Shastra, no eees, no iiis, just pure chills. The movie revolves around four central characters, Varun (Chakravarthy) as the understanding and supporting father and husband.
Jill ( Sushmita Sen as the educated, harried and a bit frightened mother and wife.) There is a sister, Rads, Radhika. I am sorry I do not know her name. There is this VJ I think, who has been roped in as her boyfriend. But the movie. the onus and the script of the movie goes to the child artiste. It is surprising how he can express fear, rage, nag, happiness, smirk all with such authencity at such a young age.
Some of our older heros should learn from this boy how to express and act. This family has come to a new
house, where this boy thinks that he sees the people who lived here in the past. And this is where the script falls flat. The same scenario was in Hum Kaun Hai and Bhoot.
If not the same, the movies revolved around houses. Anyway, the way RGV handles this project is something to watch agape and not review. After his Raat, one of the most chilling movies in Hindi Cinema, who dabbled again into horror genre and he has come out trumps. The main thing about this movie is that the ghosts arent the wave of the movie, they are just there.. like something undead.. something incomplete.. something.. that will scare you.. when you arent just read for it. There is also a cruel housemaid, who steals from the house, and when our child (Rahul) complains, she threatens him.
The next day, she is found dead! The director doesnt use grotesquely funny child masks for the ghosts, it is just normal people, with white faces, spooky. Very spooky. Be scared.. be very scared.. rGv is bad
