Well, this is not my but ages old belief of devotees from all walks of life.
This process is known as Mata Ka Bulawa.
It is a very sacred spot and I have not words to describe it.
It is always good to travel during summer as winter often turns rather chilly in Jammu .
Well, this sacred pilgrimage center is not in Kashmir but Jammu.
Devotees from across India visit Katara- the main spot starting point of this sacred yatra.
From there on wards; one either walks towards temple or can hire a pony or palkhi(palanquin).
If you are physically fit; try to walk .
A number of tour operators runs travel package to Jammu.
I would recommend the one conducted by Indian Railways Tourism Corporation.
It is far more better than many spurious tour operators who hardly put you up in some good hotel or lodge!
This is recommended to all devotees.
But please only undertake it;if you are fit and kindly take care of your personal belongings and health!
