Vallavan - Simbu : A Star To Reckon With!

I really love good music that you can feel, not just hear, and I think Vallavan does some justice to that point, thanks to Yuvan Shankar Raja’s magic.

We are eagerly awaiting to watch these commercial flicks, entertainers, that ought to keep us laughing, crying, jumping, in other words truly enjoying 3 whole hours, in one whole package, and expect no fall-outs. Vallavan is one of these, just that there are quite a few fallouts

First, if you planned to take your spouse, Parents, siblings or the other "conservative" family members, then STOP; you will end up embarassing yourself and the other(s).

If however you are planning for a 3 hour time out with close buds, and just keep roaring laughing and jumping and screaming, then this will be quite a treat.

Simbu is a rich guy with no Parents, and grows up with his close (and also best) friends, Sandhya and Santhanam. During early college, he plans on meeting the girl of his dreams and ends up with a trainee lecturer from his own college, Nayanthara (she’s looking much cuter and slimmer than in Ghajini, almost her Ayya and Chandramukhi self). Nayanthara wants to Marry only a guy who’s older to her, and Simbu happens to be 3 younger, which he hides from her.

How the secret leaks out, how Nayanthara finds out, how she falls-out and how she falls back in line with Simbu forms almost the crux of the movie.

The addition here is Reema Sen; the lady of the past. Simbu happens to have a relationship with Reema during his school days, and Reema is one of those schizos that we’re coming across more and more; Ramya Krishnan in Padaiyappa, Shreya Reddy in Thimiru, Gita in that old movie where she was paired with Rahman in Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal....Reema does a sweet psycho bit in the movie, and we almost wish she got on with her ways, when Simbu does the "Nee first ponna irrudi!!!" and confines her to an asylum.

All said and done, we have the uncessary explicits, kisses and a bedroom scene, which we could have done away with, and which is what uneccarily puts the movie out of U and into A.

Watch it once, enjoy, forget about it......Ciao then folks till my next review!!!
