Excellent site for review of mutual funds

This is a site over 20 years old which is essentially meant for one category of investments - Mutual funds . Yes of late they have started giving advise on direct equity also but it remains the " GO TO " site for mutual funds and especially for beginners who are treading gingerly into the wide wild investment world .

They always try to concentrate on the basics of mutual fund investment and this is exactly where they score over others, this they do by asking simple questions - What is my investment goal? how can I achieve this goal? Which are the funds I should invest in to achieve this goal? And finally review of the goals set . No other site does this so comprehensively . For choosing the funds they have a rating system which is really good and have all the standard riders - funds are rated based on past performance which may not necessarily be valid for the future however it serves as a good guide whilst purchase mutual funds .

They bring out a yearly mutual fund book every year in the first week of February which is essentially a summary of best mutual funds of the previous year. Will these funds stay as winners in the next few years; the beauty of the site lies in admitting that they have not idea what the future holds but the past sometime can help to understand the road ahead .

I have seen a number of complaints here on their online service but I have not personally faced any.

Of course no advise comes free these days and they have now started a premium service and if you want some value added advise the free site may not provide that, ( which they used to till not so long ago)

To recap - if you are mutual fund investor, either a novice stepping into this universe or a mature investors with a number of years of investment behind you, for both this site is a treasure trove of valuable information .

Will this information help you make money? - they are the first to admit that they are only there to hold a mirror upto your face? how one looks like, is entirely dependent on the eyes of the beholder!
