Though it’s an old movie, I happened to watch it last week while traveling in Travels. I really enjoyed the movie and thought would pen down few things which were really good and impressive. I watched whole movie. Story is old and bit synonymous with ‘anandam’ but picturisation, direction and dialogues were simple .no graphics, no acrobat fights, belly dances, hi tech items, gana song, surprisingly no tearjerker too. It’s a complete feel good movie – family entertainer. First of all I never had been comfortable with vijayakanth movies in the recent past which were with stupid punch dialogues, dancing with heroines, half his age with heavy makeup and acrobat stunts and lengthy dialogues which would only kill the villain/terrorist. I was really frustrated with that neranja manasu, thennavan etc. But this movie he had given subdued performance and was upto the mark and was looking really dignified and lovable. Plot: its simple .brother sacrificing his marital life for the sake of his brothers. How brothers reciprocate their brothers love inspite of difficulties and circumstances -is the core of the movie. Vikraman: he has done a good job compared to his other movies. Good direction and commanding story. He should be appreciated for handling a movie ‘for the story’ and not for the actor. Actors: bunch of characters who justify even in their miniscule provided to them.rajiv, Sabetha, anju, anand raj, devan, Vinita. Other main characters also don’t cross the board. All familiar villains of vijayakanth had enacted their role devan, Rajeev, khan, anand raj to their mark. Before marriage meena was looking like a bunch of artificiality trying to look and act bubbly and laughing unnecessarily she was looking like a caricature. Later she reformed and refined overnight and became goodie goodie for everyone. Story: The real thing which I enjoyed was the movie was taking surprise turns in many places. When we think any new character to become a villain next minute they would turn an angel nullifying all roars and high decibel challenges. Generally vijaykanths movie will have an effect that he is the only Goodman and all others are villains but here it is otherway round. Comedy: sick tasteless dry comedy with one liner from ramesh kanna and that lakshmi Patti. You feel constipated to smile for it. Music: between every dialogue delivery a violin or lalala will keep going. That is the touch of SA rajkumar. 3 songs are alike with same music different lines. Except that Nile nathiye song (choreography is also good) all other songs are sober and sleepy ones. So guys you can watch this movie not more than once. It is a plain straightforward movie with no complex twists, turns, emotional dialogues, thali sentiment etc.
