Hello guys, It is sad to say this but I am not happy with the way Varanasi turned out to be. I expected much more than what I actually saw.
Banaras or Varanasi is a very spiritual city with history of more than five thousand years. It has the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple, the holy ghats of Ganga and immensely revered BHU ( Banaras Hindu University) . The city is full of spiritual colours and religious burst of flavor.
But there is a much darker life than what it seems likely to be. The roads are not just there to be seen in rainy season. There was just a pond of muddy water in which vehicles were having adventure. The electricity supply was pathetic and power cuts were a routine. There was a serious crisis of road and traffic was equally mismanaged. The place needed serious drive of cleanliness and infrastructural development.
The people are like any other place in Bihar. They were more Bihari than locals of UP. The overall feel of place is untidy and disorganized mess. I hope the current PM, Mr Modi could change it for better.
