A friend of mine collapsed while on his morning walk yesterday(9th May 2018) and some of those with him rushed him to Vasavi hospital in Kumaraswamy Layout at about 9:30 a.m. The duty doctor at casualty attended to him and declared him dead by about 9:50 a.m. and released the body to the family members after collecting emergency treatment charges. However, he refused to issue the death certificate stating that he did not have the person’s previous history. The grief stricken family took the body to their home without a death certificate. Later, some of us went to the doctor and asked for the death certificate and he again refused to issue. We had to argue with him for more than 30 minutes and he was unrelenting. We then asked him to give in writing that he can not issue a death certificate though he was responsible to treat the patient when he was brought to casualty. Only then did he reluctantly issue a certificate stating that the person was "dead on arrival". We found the attitude of this doctor very unprofessional, rude and arrogant.
Looks like this hospital is run only for money. People should avoid going there.
