Review : Hello to all reading this.This is my first review. Anyway let me get staright to the point. I myself am a kamal fan and regard him to be the best actor ever in India after Sivaji Ganesan.Yesterday I had the misfortune of seeing this movie and it was really pathetic. Kamal has done possibily his worst job of his career..especially when you compare it with the Sanjay Dutt movie MUNNABHAI MBBS. Any one who has seen both movies will need probably a few scenes to realise that Kamal has acted way below his potential.
It would have been better if the original plot had been retained and the dialogues and scenes completely rewritten.Because what I find was that this movie was made in a haste just out of fear that some other actor might remake the very same movie and release it before Vasoolraja especially considering that Rajnikanth also has a movie coming up titled Jaggubhai.
The scenes and dialogues (almost all dialogues) are virtually lifted from the hindi version without much modification. An example of this is The word MAMU used frequently by Kamal. There is absolutely no timing in the comedy.Tamil movies are the best in India and also in the world probably as far as comedy movies are concerned but it is absolutely missing in this case. Watching the movie I got the feeling that there was absolutely no spontaniety in the acting.
I felt as if the actors have mugged up the Dialogues (obviously translated from Hindi-tamil) and are I recalling it from memory.Something which we all do in an exam hall when we partly recall the answers. As regards acting: Kamal : POOR ACTING. WAY 2 BELOW HIS POTENTIAL. Prakashraj: Not at all impressive.He has poory copied the hindi actors role. Sneha: I dont think she has a big role to play in this movie..She is good though. But I must add that any heroine would have done a fair job for this role. Nagesh: The guy is always good in any role. Be it comedian/Hero/Character role..Good acting ofcourse by the great actor. Prabhu: Not very good again.Absolutely poor.
Crazy Mohan: It would have been better if a younger actor had acted in his place..The scenes where he runs back home after writing the enterance exam for Kamal isnt good just because of the fact that on old guy cant run as fast as the young one..Delhi Ganesh instead of Prakash Raj would have been better is what I feel. One dosent get relief from the songs as well..But considering the current trend of songs (O podu/Gilli Songs/Arul) I wont be surprised if these top the charts. It is ridiculous. I am sorry for a harsh review but I have written true to my heart..
After Michael Madana Kamarajan the classic movie Kamal has always delivered poor comedy movies..filled with vulgarity and personal desires (Simran. ) Kamal Hasan should concentrate on his work and only his work and throw all his cheap stuff in the nearest bin.Only then Can he Give us the performances he has given us in the following movies
1: Salangai Oli (ABSOLUTELY GENIUS!!! WONDERFUL ACTING)
2: 16 Vayadinile ( CLASS ACTING)
3: Michael Maadana Kama Rajan (Wonderful acting by every actor and possibily the best comedy movie in India Along with Bhale Pandya (Sivaji movie who else!!) ) Many many more movies of Kamal come to mind..
Incase you are expecting a laugh riot better learn Hindi and watch Munnabhai MBBS rather than Vasoolraja MBBS.
To Summarise : Kamal please learn that HASTE MAKES WASTE.
