The album kicks off with none other than ’pour some sugar on me’, a showcase song of their talent with almost everything in it including heart and soul.It is sexiest song with loud drums , lyrics are catchy , stylish and funny like;’’’you got the peaches, i got the cream’’;do you take sugar , one lump or two’’etc, . If this song doesnt get you pumped up you dont deserve to listen to others. The next track ’photograph’ was a blockbluster, thanks to skilfull guitar of Phil collen and MTV’s relentless airing of this song. ’Love bites’is a heart broke love ballad to excite the girl fans to point of sublime happiness. ’Lets get rocked is anthemic. Simply , this hard rocking song is a signature Def leppard. ’Two steps behind’ is my favorite .
Its a slow love song, as sentimental as metal can be.Whenever these grimmy hard rockers get to their slow stuff , they are! Amen!sing on brethern!.Like ’nothin else matters (Mettalica), November rain(G’N’R), Janies got a gun(Aerosmith).2SB is no exception -its a magic running through your soul. ’Animal’ is the next song which made the album hysteria really take off and proved that Lep was a king of school metal.Its good song with mid-tempo richness and a sing along chorous. ’Foolin’ and Rocket ’are loud but melodic, staple rock radio. While ’when love and hate collide ’is a weakest number in the album’Armageddon it’is a ctachy melody with great guitar hooks.We all sure heard this song in the radio/pubs etc., but never knew it was the song . Hysteria, other favorite from this album, marked Collen’s arrival as a member of Def Leppards songwriting team .Collen skilfully interjcted trashy melodiscism to Joe Elliott’s melliflous voice. This track has a perfect blend of metal pop and power ballad.
Def leppard may be more remembered for their teased hair and ripped jeans , but thats b’coz’of our messed up tastes for music rather than anything else.Mark my words , this is the best collection of Def Leppard’s songs , A collection for the new millenium. Keep rocking!
