I am a patient of Vedanayagam hospital for the past 2 years having undergone removal of a kidney stone and with collaboration with GEM Hospital, Coimbatore, simultaneous removal of gall bladder for gall stones. Their efficiency and range of treatment is good. There are a number of urologists for consultation and they are conservative in their treatment. I still go for check up their and their after care is also good.
One area where they can improve is in theirafter surgery(post-operative) removal of catheter, after about 3-4 weeks, when they remove the indwelling catheter, they can leave a male nurse(s) to look after the preliminaries. It will be better. While I have no bias against female nurses, a male touch would be better. Ofcourse female urology patients should have female nurses to look after them and help them with the catheter, etc. But for males, I think it would be better if they have male nurses itself.
Otherwise, their rooms and other ambience is as good as hospitals of this category go. They maintain a high degree of hygiene.
They also have facilities for treating kidney transplant patients and other up to date treatment for urinary functions and other surgical facilities for both sexes.
