After I wrote a comment on Mr. Pushkar’s (from jhumritalaiya) (re)views on VJTI, I felt my comments can indeed be considered as a review in itself. So here I am writing the same again. In case if anyone happens to read Pushkar’s review before taking admission to VJTI, he/she should be given one more chance to correct that mistake. After all, to err is human !!
So here goes my review cum comments :
Your review looks as if you see only negative things.Agreed that some labs don’t have the necessary infrastructure and some of the faculties are not as good as expected.I even agree that IITs are way ahead of VJTI. But don’t you think that IITs were meant to be that way? IITs were started with that focus to have world class students from India. How much do you think does VJTI gets from govt.? Now that it’s autonomous institute, it will take a little time to shackle the old image of a ’ typical sarkari college’ to a modern teghnological college with the most modern tools, labs and best faculties etc. As rightly said by the earlier comment on yor review that either you didnt get through VJTI or you could get into it but you went into some college in Jhumritalaiya and now you are regreting the decision. What was your branch by the way ?
Do you even know how many branches are there in VJTI ?
Do you even know that the MCA in VJTI is one of the top 5 in India ?
Do you even know that the textile branch in VJTI is one of the best in India ?
Do you know that iMAX adlabs(World’s largest dome theatre, situated in wadala) was designed by a VJTI faculty ?
Do you even know that VJTI polytechnic is one of the best in mumbai ?
Do you know that you can do your M.E.in a wide range of fields like structural, power elctronics etc ? Do you even know that the computer lab has a cluster of 24 computers connected together working as single unit ?
Do you know that VJTI is not just 4-5 storeyed building but has a football ground, cricket ground, tennis courts, hostel having a capacity of 600 students ?
If you don’t know these things then don’t you think you are being wrong by judging a college by its outer looks ?
Everything I said above still doesnt make VJTI comparable to IIT . Anyone would prefer an IIT over a VJTI. But I don’t think your college in Jhumritalaiya or wherever it is can have these things. And that too being a govt college, VJTI has to accpet students for such low fees.
