Aamchi Aai Tumchi Aai .... Veermata Jeejabai

Uh well.. dunno abt the college life, one cos I hardly attended college, second cos I hardly attended college, and last but not the least , cos I hardly attended college.

vjti hostel was the place where we were bred, the whole of four years. you could count on us, we never left the hostel rooms, come rain or shine(except, of course in weekends). College was some alien entity where you needed to go for submissions and giving exams.

Hostel was the place where the heart was, what with manya’s special bhurjhi(maskaa maarke), the five gardens(jahan ladkiyaan humaare aaspaas ghoomti theen), the tv room (where we spent those tense moments of cricket games between india and pakistan.. and watching ftv ; )..).. the late nights that we used to stay awake , burning the night oil , not studying, mind you, but discussing about some godforsaken decision Nehru had taken and its repurcussions on the current economic scenario. It was a completely different matter altogether that we had an exam the next day, which definitely wasnt as important as that decision nehru had taken.

man , those were priceless moments.

Now that life has become so morose , working in this software firm, when we take a moment off and look back upon the time spent in the hostel, each and every moment spent has taught us something that we might not be able to learn in life for years to come.

we have had fun, we have had fights, we have had grudges, we have had egos clashing, we have had that helping hand, we have cried together and we have laffed together.

Now after 3 years of leaving hostel, most of us are well settled in our respective lines of earning, life still yearns for that walk down the five gardens, and those evenings of meaningless discussions, manya’s special bhurjhi and half naked posters in the hostel room.
