I became a lacto-vegetarian some time ago for ethical reasons. Since then, finding the right food has been quite difficult for me. I live in a country where less than 1% of the population is vegetarian. To make it worse my own family are omnivores. Being only 16 when I made this compassionate move, I had no means of buying my own lunch and dinner or of cooking my own food.
I thus had to rely on my parents and what I could find in the school cafeteria and in restaurants. However, a few months ago I decided that it was high time I started finding my own vegetarian recipes and attempt them. That is when I discovered Vegetarian Times.
Vegetarian Times is a magazine that centres on preparing authentic vegetarian and vegan foods. It?s a monthly magazine that contains tons of healthy veg recipes. From Italian to Chinese, from dinner to supper?..you name it, they?ve got it! Their instructions are simple to follow and the dishes that I have tried out, and here I must mention that I?m a terrible cook, have come out wonderfully well.
And if you think that Vegetarian Times is all recipes and nothing else, you?re wrong. The magazine prints articles on every single dish they provide a recipe for. In these articles, they talk about where the dish originated from, its popularity among chefs around the globe, what its health benefits are and what scientists and health experts think of it. Then there are also the little health info columns where information on how to stay healthy and avoid certain diseases is given. It?s always a pleasure to read these little facts.
I would definitely recommend ?Vegetarian Times? to all vegetarians and vegans who enjoy simple, exotic dishes. And to those of you who still eat meat, what are you waiting for? Grab a copy of this magazine and go vegetarian for life!!
