I had an account with HDFC securities. They have just about everything. Browser Trading, Mobile Trading and also their new BLINK software. But what is most annoying about HDFC is their high charges. You will be effectively paying 0.7% on each delivery trade. In total it comes to 1.4%. In addition they also put some other monthly charges based on your trade volume. With such charges, there is not much good news for the investor.Then I recently opened an account with Ventura Securities. Their pointer software is really good. But unfortunately they do not have a browser based trading.
It is a serious handicap in the modern age.They may introduce it shortly. But that apart I am happy with the Ventura account. I faced couple of problems due to Internet connectivity but the Customer support person solved the problem almost immediately. the effective brokerage comes to 0.4%. It is almost half of what I used to pay to HDFC.
So I recommend if you are okay with desktop based trading. Their margin support is also good. Overall I am satisfied.
