’Veronika decides to die’ written by Paulo coelho who is known for his book called "The Alchemist".
The story of novel revolves around the young, beautiful girl veronika, who have everything in life good career, money, boyfriend, etc but irrespective of these things she decides to commit suicide by taking too many sleeping pills.
After taking pills she waits to die, and was thinking about her life and was planning to write suicide letter but her plan fails and she wakes up in a mental hospital. Doctors told her you have a life of only one week.
After this she thought she have nothing to loose in life, and she can do anything she want without worrying about anything, any consequence. So she started living her life in that mental hospital. Also she knew that nobody will care what she is doing as she mental patient.
Meanwhile she falls in love with Eduard, who has schizophrenia. Because of this new experience she was feeling the things which never felt in her life include hatred, love and sexual awakening.
In the meantime, her doctor performed one experiment "can you arouse a want to live into the patient by telling that death is imminent?" This prognosis of her doctor gave new life to veronika.
