VV - a winner for sure !!!

The combination of Gautham Menon-Harris Jayaraj has proved their mettle in Minnale and Kaakha Kaakha. When you add Kamal Haasan, undoubtedly the best Tamil actor ever and probably the best Indian actor, the output is expected to be scintillating. And it does. Vettaiyadu Villaiyadu songs rock !!!

The album starts with the catchy karka karka by Devan, Tipu, Nakul and Andrea. Harris has made good use of percussions combined with soft rap and this might be used as one of the background scores in the movie. Good effort !

Next comes Partha Mudhal by Bombay Jayshree and Unni Menon. Its a very soft and soothing number with good use of the veena. The voices of both the singers blend well and this gives the number a romantic feel !

Manjal veyil by Hariharan is undoubtedly the best song of the album. Both Western and classical rythms have been blended intelligently and this is supposed to be the song that potrays a day in both Kamal’s and Jothika’s lives in the movie. A standout number !!

Uyirale by Mahalakshmi and Srinivas is a very very soft and soothing number and its one of the most beautiful melody songs heard in recent times. The instruments have been gently used and the songs is made top-notch, thanks to Thamarai’s excellent https://lyrics.

The album ends with Nerupae by Sowmya ray. Its a number more suited for the masses rather than the classes. Sounds like an item number and its probably a very oridinary effort. Nothing much to write about this unless its spectacularly visualized !

Overally, the album lacks the freshness of Kaakha Kaakha but undoubtedly its a standout on its own. The film has created huge expectations and the first previews are usually the songs. And they dont let you down one bit.

VV songs rock and its a winner all the way !!
