Any expectation about the film that you had before seeing it on the big screen will be proved totally wrong as far as the story and the screenplay are concerned.they are neatly done with no space for "Should have been"s and "Must have been"s.
To the people who have an urge or compulsion to compare the tamil movies with the hindi and Hollywood movies and always find the other ones more technically sound , this one is an exception. I couldn’t.t find any fault regarding the technicality of the film.
Gowtham has done a great and laudable work behind the camera.He has added spice to the already hot script.The mix is so compulsive and adds fire to the narration of the story in a gripping way and keeping the suspense on.
Coming into the story, Kamal Hassan(Raghavan ) is a cop and as any tamil movie would go, a fitting intro is given to him.Then the story goes to the next gear.A girl is kidnapped and Kamal is asked to investigate the case.As he plunges into the case, he finds out that the girl had been killed very brutally.As he is running the investigations, he is stunned by the murder of the parents of the girl who was killed earlier.But this time the murders are in New York.
Regarding this case, he is compelled to go to Newyork where he finds out more murders in the past done with the same methodology and the same traces which puts him and the FBI in the track of a serial killer on loose.During this phase of the movie, one cant help finding traces of Alex Cross, the ultimate Detective, a creation of James Patterson, in Kamal’s character.Some traces like a tragic past where his wife dies, himself as an established detective with strong instincts etc. etc.But anyway all are given to the audience’s interest.
Then as the search intensifies, they narrow down to two medical students.They have done all the murders but they elude the police in the first initiative by the cops to get them.then they roam around in disguise cleverly eluding the police and especially Kamal.Thier names are in the nationwide search and they decide to revenge Kamal for making them to undergo this.
These two then challenge Kamal and go very personal with him, killing people with Kamal’s name on the bodies.Finally the showdown ends in a final stretch by Kamal who kills them both and rescues his lover, Jyothika.This ends a beautifully said and shown tale of a policeman.
Must see for every body.
