Maybe you have read the review by a tuition teacher. I am one of those IGCSE kids suffering from Vibgyor’s insane plan to make us graduate eight months early. I joined in June’11 from overseas(I’m in 9th). I was a top student in my old school, and here I am struggling due to the rush of the syllabus. I often feel like I can’t take the stress imposed on us to finish the syllabus and do well in our exams. And we are never given a reason for why we must take the exams so early.
Half of our teachers are from DPS(Delhi Public School). What’s that all about? Plus, the principal’s face is never to be seen unless it’s during a fire drill. God knows what she does during the day. My old school’s principal used to greet us every morning - there’s no such friendliness here.
The saving grace of Vibgyor are its excellent teachers. With a few exceptions, they have really helped me to settle and are sympathetic with my academic situation.
The facilities are quite nice - two computer labs, science labs. those are fine. However, in its promotional video, Vibgyor bragged about its interactive whiteboards. We have chalkboards. I don’t mind it, I’m just wondering why they’re bragging about something they don’t have.
The road leading up to the school shouldn’t even be called a road. My mom nearly got into an accident trying to pull out of her parking space.
The play area is ridiculous. I didn’t even know it existed until someone pointed it out today.
The quality of SPA has really fallen. I don’t feel guilty about finding an excuse to skip it since I know I’d be wasting a valuable hour of time. Besides, we only have it once a week, which I find terrible.
They waste our time with the annual concert. It can’t even be called a concert. We hated what we had to do and the poor teachers who weren’t directing a scene/dance were forced to help with all the art work. They did a wonderful job with that, but it went to waste. VIVA(the annual concert) is such a wonderful idea - if only it had been executed properly.
The parents are told that all the problems in the school are our fault somehow or another. My neighbor’s son is in Sr Kg and she tried to request to have a sample of the food given to them, and she was refused for some unknown reason. The reply from the teacher seemed to be a lot of beating around the bush to me. We don’t even have the keys to our lockers yet, and the year is over in just three months.
Teachers are coming and going. This year alone I have had three economics teachers. It is so so stressful to change what we had finally gotten used to to another teacher’s standards. Class VI A CIE suffered the most - they lost many beloved teachers. Those teachers knew they were too good for a mediocre school like Vibgyor, and one by one we lost many of the best teachers.
Don’t punish your child - send them somewhere else.
