Honest Opinion on Vibgyor High School, NIBM, Pune

First impression of school - no proper playground( for god sake they have sections up to G-H, where are all the kids going to play). One over the other five storied building with dirty white and green paint is not very impressive, name sake small swimming pool( my daughter never used it in her one year stay though), miniature sand pool for primary kids on a 10X10 ft site( my daughter did dirty her shoes with that mud couple of times, so I assume she did get to play there).

AC front office is fine, people on the admission desk are all good too. They will take you around for a school tour and will not forget to show you a classroom which is converted into a doll house for small kids(which is not bad, my daughter liked being there).

They kept their commitment of 20 kids in a class, 2 teachers and a helper. Classroom are decently equipped and both of my daughter’s teachers were very patient with her. Academically, my daughter learned well during her one year stint at Vibgyor, so I have no complains on that front.

School provides food for kids upto Sr KG during lunch. The food has most of the time had zero nutrition - samosas, rice and fried items. After realizing she is falling sick with throat infection very often, I started packing her lunch from home. There were also instances of stale food served and small kids remaining hungry all day.

The good thing is - school has adequate buses for pick ups and drops but unfortunately always struggled with drivers. There were many instances during the year where buses were late, dirty, seats torn and over crowded.

The first encounter with the school was the orientation program for parents. Very poorly organized, dusty roads, bad parking added to the pain. Administration team lacks basic skills - all parents were dumped into a huge classroom furnished with plastic chairs and parents flocked in. The presentation was make by projecting on a wall(very unprofessional) and with so much of sound one had to stress ears. Tea coffee served in plastic cups. All my personal encounters with the school were very disappointing due to lack of professionalism and poor administration. The worse experience was the annual function - I regretted admitting my daughter to such a school. Almost in every item there were 35- 40 kids on the stage trying to do something that parents wouldn’t understand and were trying to figure out where their kids were on the stage( after paying so much of money on costumes and program fee). The tents gave an impression of low class marriage function.

Now if I were to summarize the pros and cons of this school. Pros - decent education pattern, less kids in the class enables teachers to pay personal attention. Cons - High fees, poor administration, lack of professionalism. I changed my daughter’s school after an year as one can’t except kids to learn perfection in such a mediocre school which is not even close to being a good public school, so calling it an International School is a mockery.
