All the students in Vibgyor had visualized a great, comfortable, spacious and friendly environment as per all the advertisements and presentations. Guess what? More than half our dreams were trampled in the dust of pressure, a rarely-ever-seen principal, low standard of cafeteria food, congested, stuffy rooms, and ACs which rarely ever seems to work.
Of course, we have many such complains and I’ll tell you about a few. Last year, the cafeteria food was spotted containing a cockroach, a perfectly satisfactory and healthy meal for your child! Why not? We were told that the food we would receive was "guaranteed to be delicious, hygienic and healthy". Well yes, watery gravies, a dirty room, and no adequate place to wash is obviously matching the description.
What else? We also had been promised our very own lockers. Yes, we got them. But whats the point of a locker when anyone can open it? We never received our keys even now, and as my friend had written before, the year will soon end. So there is no point receiving them now anyway. Though we have been asking for them since the year began only to be told that they will arrive "next week". So this "next week" never came, and neither did our keys.
This did not only happen with the keys, but the lockers themselves. We asked for them until our throats went soar and again got the same reply; "next week". THIS "next week" apparently meant the next term. What a week. We 9th graders have so much pressure on ourselves, 55 or so chapter in Economics, All these many many terms in Biology, Formulas and the whole periodic table in Chemistry and the Maths syllabus is no tiny thing either.
And how long do we have for this? Is the time enough? No, and the result is the extreme hard work of both students and teachers. Both are not getting enough time for themselves, both are working more than ever to get everything done with. Oh yes, and the competitions.
We keep doing them, one after another, and we’ve never found out till date who won what. Not even for the ones we gave last year. One of the reasons why no one ever participates. And who can forget the ever amazing field trips? WHY may I ask are children being taken to places they don’t want to visit? WHY are we being taken to places which have no relation to us?
WHY can’t we go somewhere like a park, restaurant, dam. somewhere we can enjoy? No wonder more than half the class bunks them. Well, I personally could keep going on and on and on. But I’ll stop here. Don’t make the mistake of sending your child to Vibgyor, don’t, PLEASE, don’t make them suffer. What I have said isn’t even half the deal.
