I was looking to buy a 32 inch LCD TV and what else would be a good time to buy than a new year where you will have offers floating. When I went to the shop, I noticed this Jumbo. I was really impressed by its picture quality and of course the size. 34 inch TV! Imagine watching a day/night T20 or an ODI cricket match with popcorn in your hands on a 34 inch TV. The experience is really different. Cant be told in words. You have to only experience it! My ideas to buy LCD TV got changed. I wanted to go back home, read specs of this TV, reviews and then decide whether to go for this or not. So I did some R&D.
Coming to the technical details- it has 5 band graphic equalizer(with good bass/treble effects), SVMC technology(to make logos/images appear crisp/better at corners also. For eg a cricket score or a channel name/logo appearing at corner), 800 W PMPO(Believe me the sound really rocks!. You cannot go beyond even 25% of the supported volume level). DDPI(Digital Dynamic picture improvement - For adjusting the picture quality when you switch channels). Supports component interface as well. So if you also have a DVD player with a component output, you can plug that player to this TV(component in of the TV) and enjoy great video quality on the component output.
All the above at a price of 13K. There was a scheme that you pay additional 7K and at end of 3 years, you will get a videocon 32 inch plasma TV. You can buy this Jumbo TV with scheme(20K) as well as without scheme(13K). I went with the scheme. I also got a wireless headphone as part of the offer. It is also really cool. You can hook it with a TV, ipod or MP3 player, plays FM.really cool when u get it for free as part of the offer;-).
I am writing this review after using my TV for a year now(1 year 2 months to be precise). Its really awesome. I still love it at the same levels as when I saw it the very first day. I and my family enjoy all movies, cricket matches on it. No complaints at all till date. Believe me, size does matter! Once you watch movies, matches on it, I am sure u will get addicted to this TV. The picture, sound quality is really great at such a price! I believe there is no need for a home theatre system. However if you hook up 1, you can start a mini theatre at ur home I guess;-).
The only cons I believe is its weight. Its too heavy and needs 2 well built persons to lift it!. But if you are staying in your own house without plans of shifting/moving it around too much, then decide a particular spot in your home and install it there. We have placed it in a corner in our house, and since its having a flat screen, people visiting our house often get duped, thinking its a LCD TV. So I suggest corner is the best place;-). Those visting my house, were all really impressed when I quoted the price. When asked to guess the price, every one visiting my house were quoting high prices for it;-). When I told them the real price, they were truly impressed. Some even couldnt believe it!. Leaving apart what others say/think, my personal experience has been truly wonderful.I continue to enjoy my TV as I write this experience.
