Videocon Integra 27 HD LCD TV: Common Man's LCD

Recently my age old 21" Colour TV conked off and instead of being unhappy, somewhere in my mind I was really happy, as this presented me the opportunity to buy a new TV.

After doing some basic surfing about latest TVs, I was sure I wanted to go in for LCD TV. Plasma was too costly and Flat screen TVs are almost outdated. So started the search for the LCD TV. As good luck would have it, that very saturday I saw an Ad for **Vijay Sales which was offering Videocon Integra HD 27 (26" LCD TV) for just Rs 20000** (of course in exchange of Old working TV, my TV just about qualified :) ).

The offer was obviously lucrative, as other known brands like Samsung Sony, LG were priced in 30000+ range. The only decision to be made was is Videocon good enough. To add to the pressure, the Vijay Sales offer was valid for 1 day only. After some R&D on net, asking friends n relatives for their verdict and grilling the Vijay Sales sales executive I thought it was worth the gamble.

So in came the TV and here are the features -

1. It can be kept on its stand and is also wall mountable.

2. Most LCD TVs are made with assumption that they will be used with Home Theatres and hence have very basic in built speakers. **But this 1 is really good, crystal clear and loud sound**. 1 annoying thing I found is when you do connect it to your Home Theatre speakers, you cant control the volume with your TV remote.

3. The picture is bit of disappointment in the factory settings. Its too bright and hits you on the eye. But some adjustments and bingo, its almost perfect. Now I am not a TV expert to point some shades and colours coming this way or that. I am just a normal user who doesn’t bother to go in that detail. So while picture might not be as good as a Sony or Samsung (to the experts that is. I really dont know the difference), to me its good enough.

4. It has the other usual features like DVD input, Digicam input, S-Video input and also PC Input. (means u can use it as your PC Monitor)

5. **The Menu is standard one and easy to navigate** (Even my Dad can now operate it!!).

6. Looks of the TV are also great. The shining Black frame is contrasted by the Silver colour speakers present at the bottom. I wonder though if full black would have looked better.

Overall its complete value for money and though I bought it for 20000 in offer, without offer its available for 27000. So its still cheaper then most of the brands.
