Avoid Vidyarambh for the betterment of your kids and their safety. This is one of the worst play schools I have ever seen. Let me list down the reasons and my bad experiences here:
Kid to teacher ratio is too large. They are just not able to manage and pay personal attention to each and every kid. I got totally shocked by the seeing the situation of kids during the recently held Annual day function. All the kids were made to sit in the basement. There was just one lady trying to manage some 25 kids. Most of the kids were totally panicked and were screaming. When I and my wife went to basement to pick our kid, nobody even bothered. With this situation, anybody could have easily kidnapped the kids. It might be the same situation during the outdoor trip (they have such trips once in a month). This is definitely very panicky.
Managed by highly commercial and money minded folks. They try to find out all the possible ways to mint money. Latest being, charging entrance fees for Parents to view their kid perform during the annual day.
Apart from the regular hefty fees, they try to exploit the parents by asking them to nominate their kids to other activities like Jelly beans. They would charge again separately for this. When you don’t show interest in these, they would show their displeasure in some or the other way which I experienced recently. During the annual day, my daughter’s stage presence was just for 20 seconds and that too she was pushed somewhere in the corner. I was amazed to see this level of discrimination being made for the no fault of hers. If she starts getting the inferiority complexion at this age itself, she would never be able to gain confidence in her.
You are not allowed to make a surprise visit to the school to check your kids. If you want to watch your kid, you need to do that through live webcam for which again you need to pay hefty amount. (Another way of squeezing money).
Often my kid complains that her teacher pinched her. A 2 year old kid would never lie. Once I even went and complained about this to the school authorities. But their response was not at all satisfactory.
This is something very un-usual which I have noticed in Vidyarambh. The way they (teachers) receive the kids, if you leave them to school in a posh car is totally different from the way them receive if you leave them on a two wheeler or by walk. This is really pathetic. Are they trying to give special treatment to kids of very rich parents???
I have decided to dis-continue here immediately. Could you please suggest some good schools near by..
Thanks, Sumanth
