The Best place to lose money and Health..

THIS IS MY HUMBLE REQUEST TO YOU ALL.BEFORE GO THIS HOSPITAL PLS SPEND LITTLE TIME TO READ THE BELOW STORY... IT SHOULD NOT REPEAT TO ANYONE... GOVERNMENT SHOULD BAN THIS HOSPITAL.

My mother is suffering from kidney failure from the last 2 ½ years.  My father voluntarily agreed to donate one of his kidneys.

Kidney transplantation was finalized on 03/08/2012 by Dr. K.C.Gurudev.  However, on the same date the doctor asked us to have a DSA test in Bangalore TTK blood bank. We received the report positive which means that kidney transplantation can’t be performed. After reviewing the report, the doctor asked us to undergo Plasmapherosis which costs an additional 1.5 lakhs. We requested the doctor for an explanation on the above tests and we also asked as to why the tests were not performed before conducting all other tests and government approval for which we did not receive any proper response. We felt something was not right and asked the doctor to postpone the operation. However doctor did not listen to us and asked us to go for operation after plasmapherosis. And also the doctor told us that the same procedures were done for many other patients.

After going through all the prescribed formalities at Vikram Hospital, a team of doctors lead by Dr. K.C Gurudev approved my dad’s kidney transplantation. The expense of the operation is Rs.2.25 Lakhs excluding medicines. I paid Rs.2.10 lakhs on 21/08/2012 on the operation day. The operation was conducted on the same day by Dr. K.C Gurudev, Dr. M.S Ranganath and team. We have been told that the transplantation was successful. But, due to the negligence of the doctor during the operation one of the kidneys of my father stopped functioning on the same day.

Just to give a little back ground information. During the surgery the doctors removed the left kidney of my father and transplanted it to my mother. But while doing this procedure through laparoscopy surgery, the doctors confirmed that the clips slipped and so did an open surgery instead and tried to reduce the bleeding. This resulted in low BP and stopped blood circulation to my dad’s other (right-side) kidney.  The doctors assured that the kidney would work fine in a day or two.  But after this, when an angiogram was done, they came to know that the right kidney has stopped functioning completely.  In the meantime, the kidney which was transplanted to my mother was just started rejection but doctors did not take any initiative treating the same. Later the doctors forced us to go for a re-transplant. After two days, they forcibly took my consent and performed the re-transplantation, because of the deteriorated health condition of my father. During all these days I was told not to worry about the expenses/hospital bills. My father, who was supposed to be discharged within 6-7 days, was in the hospital’s I.C.U for more than 25 days and facing several medical complications (Low B.P, Blood clot in brain, temporary visual loss, headache, itching, and formation of liquid in lungs).

In the mean while, my mother got discharged on 08/09/2012, but the hospital did not ask / demand us to pay even a single rupee nor did they provide us any reports including the Discharge Summary Report.

After several rounds of negotiations about the health condition of my father they gave a “Free Treatment Letter” (Enclosed) and discharged him on 27/09/2012 night 8.30 p.m. However even on 27/09/2012 the Hospital management did not demand us to pay the bill amount nor did they provide any reports of my father. They had even asked us to collect back the amount of 2.10 lakhs which I had paid them on 21/08/2012.  On 28/09/2012 morning 4.15 a.m due to severe breathing problem my father was re-admitted to the same hospital (Vikram, Mysore). Till date he is still in the hospital as an inpatient without any proper treatment provided.

After several discussions with the Hospital Management, doctors provided us with Operation CD containing my father’s operation video of time duration 24.20 mins and some reports were provided on 06/10/2012.

On watching the video for several times, I noticed that, as said by Doctor the hemo-lock clips were not slipped/failed by itself, but it is very clearly observed in the video that Doctors cut the renal artery above the hemo-lock clip. This can be noticed very clearly in the Operation CD video (23.55 mins to 24.08 mins) provided by the hospital. I had recorded my conversation with the Vikram hospital doctors where they said “Clip scenario don’t tell to anyone, we will return the amount you paid of 2.10 lakhs, will help you in the future”

Operation Reports are not matching with the Operation video clipping provided by hospital. They also changed the concerned medical reports of my father according to their vested interest where slip of the clip is not mentioned anywhere at all in the O.T notes or in any other reports which doctor had mentioned us after operation.

Once I found the doctor’s negligence and started discussing on this, Hospital Management became very in-cooperative and are now demanding us to clear all the bills and to get my father discharged immediately. They have also filed false police compliant in this regard, against my ailing father.

I have already borrowed nearly Rs. 6 lakhs for this purpose and my mother is now on dialysis thrice a week, which used to be twice a week prior to the transplantation and my father has lost one of his kidneys. Both are facing severe health issues.
